Jazz lovers and Humanitarians, I hope this email finds you well.

On January 12 2010, Haiti suffered an incredibly devastating earthquake within Port Au Prince.

In mid-January, friends of NewUrbanJazz(tm) took action.

On February 10, 2010 in White Plains, NY, we executed "Westchester Musicians for Haiti", featuring a handful of great talent in that region. Truth of the matter is that an earthquake could do similar damage here in the US. Lest we forget the victims of Hurricane Katrina, which had similar effects.

On March 18, 2010, we continued our efforts with "Jazz for Haiti", featuring Dave Valentin, Chieli Minucci, Chembo Corniel, Don Braden, Ragan Whiteside, Bradford Hayes, Carrie Jackson, Yvette Glover and more...

The news cameras are gone, the media explosion reached it's zenith...but the done is not nearly done.  Haiti has lost over 250,000 lives with hundreds of thousands more are left without homes.

WHAT CAN YOU AND I DO??

What can we do as Americans to help continue the efforts of resolving some of the issues, which include but are not limited to blood donations, water, and food.

On March 12, 2010, NewUrbanJazz has collaborated with the Red Cross to further assist these efforts.

On the right is an initiative to produce fundraising efforts on behalf of the Red Cross with regards to Haiti. Simply click the logo below to see how you can further assist the needs of Haiti.

Your payments will go DIRECTLY to the Red Cross. NewUrbanJazz serves nearly as a collaborator to getting the word out.  NewUrbanJazz has nothing to gain from this endeavor but a 'good feeling' Humanitarian effort.

Please show your support as a jazz aficionado, please show your support. We are seeking a minimum of $50,000 to aid the cause.  That means if 5,000 people on my list can kick in $10.00, we've achieved our goal.

Thank you for your time and consideration and please don't forget about Haiti!

Sincerely,

Bob Baldwin

HAITI RELIEF AND DEVELOPMENT

On January 12, a series of earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 6.5 to 7.3 devastated Haiti. The American Red Cross is working with its partners in the global Red Cross and Red Crescent network, including the Haitian Red Cross, and other partners to assist those affected by this disaster.

Your gift to the American Red Cross will support emergency relief and recovery efforts to help those people affected by the earthquake in Haiti. Assistance provided by the American Red Cross may include deploying personnel, sending relief supplies, and providing financial resources.
